Peking, November 15, 1971, (AFP) : China has clearly and insistently warned Pakistan that it does not want war to break out in the Indian sub-continent, an informed source disclosed here today.
The source said Chinese concern over the risk of Indo-Pak war was conveyed repeatedly to Pakistan President Yahya’s envoy Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and the three Pakistani army chiefs, during talks they had here a week ago with premier Chou En- lai and other Chinese leaders.
The Chinese were particularly insistent on the necessity of avoiding a war with India in their talks with the three Pakistani commanders, the source said.
