The Soviet Government is likely to take up shortly with Pakistan's military regime the release of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who has been languishing in a West Pakistan jail for the last six months. The Soviet decision to approach the Pakistan Government is understood to have been indicated to Indian officials during Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s three-day visit to Moscow which concluded yesterday. The Kremlin is also expected to ask Pakistan to start negotiations with Sheikh Mujib in his capacity as leader of the Party which won a majority in the general election last December for a peaceful settlement of the Bangla Desh crisis.
